Hailing from Germany, the Boxer is a stocky breed, medium size, short-haired dog. This is a powerfully built breed.

The coat is smooth and fawn, brindled, white, or even reverse brindled with or without white markings. Boxers have broad short skulls and a square muzzle. Very strong jaws and a powerful bite ideal for hanging on to large prey.

The Boxer was bred from the English Bulldog and the now extinct Bullenbeisser and is part of the Molosser, mastiff group.

Boxers hold the record for dogs with the longest tongue.
